Childhood complaints.
Craniosacral Therapy is so gentle it can be used on babies and children. It can even be used on newborns. Common childhood complaints include glue ear, recurrent ear infections, colic, feeding difficulties and irritability. Craniosacral Therapy can help with all these complaints and more. The stress held in the body after the birthing process can lead to all these complaints. Tightness is held in the skull bones after a difficult delivery and shock is held in the body after a caesarian birth.
The way the branch bends, the tree grows.
In an ideal birth the babies skull bones would pop right back into shape after the vaginal squeeze. A caesarian birth leaves the babies system in shock due to the enormous pressure change. I believe every baby (and mum), need treatment after birth. The sooner the better. But its never too late. Restrictions not released after the birth can lead to ear problems, digestive problems or feeding problems.
To grommet or not to grommet.
Grommets are tiny tubes inserted into children ears to relieve constant build up of fluid and ear infections. Craniosacral Therapy can relieve the restriction in the bones around the ear, allowing better fluid drainage. Very few Dr’s know about this and may only suggest grommets as treatment.
Colic.
Colic is another complaint that is a result of jamming of the skull bones during birth. The vagus nerve passes through the skull down to the intestines. Compression in the skull’s occipital bone can cause colic. Gentle Craniosacral Therapy can relieve the cause of colic, without medication.
Autism.
Medical research has shown autism is related to reduced blood supply to the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. Craniosacral Therapy has been shown to relieve the tightness in the frontal and temporal bones leading to better blood flow.
If you know mothers with young babies or children, recommending Craniosacral Therapy can provide great relief for the whole family!
