Cracking sounds in my head
Recently a client came to me saying she had started having ” cracking sounds in my head”. She pointed to the spot, which happened to be the suture between 2 skull bones. Her occipital bone and the parietal bone. The parietal/ occipital suture. She said the cracking sounds were so loud, even her husband could hear them on the couch. They were not painful, just loud and tended to occur at the end of the day.
So you may ask, aren’t skull bones fused after childhood?
No they are not. Dr Upledger, one of the teachers of CranioSacral Therapy, proved through science, that the bones of the skull have movement. I explained to my client, that what she was experiencing, was simply a cranial misalignment. Cranial misalignments are common, and can cause any number of symptoms. Including headaches, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, hormonal imbalances, teeth grinding, back pain, dementia……. I could go on and on!
How young is too young for treatment, and how old is too old?
Because the therapy works with the body rather than against the body, newborn babies to the elderly, can safely be treated.
Is there anything I can do to make the treatment more effective?
Yes! I recommend drinking enough water, self facial massage and at least one class of yoga per week.
So I am currently treating this woman with the cracking skull. I am working on releasing her occipital bone and her parietal bones. This will realign the joints between these two bones. This will have many outcomes. I predict the cracking will soon resolve and she will feel less anxious and more relaxed than she has been. When the bones in the skull are misaligned we can experience depression, paranoia, anxiety and hormonal imbalances. Just to name a few! I’ll keep you posted how the treatments go and the outcomes she experiences. No more head cracking!
If you know anyone experiencing any of these symptoms, email me at [email protected], or phone 0409508020, thanks Caroline

Hello. I have a question. I recently suffered from a mild stroke. I recieved treatment but as soon as I started taking it the top of my head started cracking as if it was being opened from the inside. The first time wasn’t so bad but the second left me disoriented, feeling extremely cold, out of breath and feeling like I would die any second. Now I can’t look straight because when I do I feel as though the is pressure at the top of my head being applied as if the bone isn’t quite as intact as it used to leaving me feeling dizzy so I look at people side ways. I plan on taking a CT scan (I think that’s what it’s called) but would like to know if this is treatable? Also what it is because I fear the next crack might take my life.

Hello. I have been experiencing ‘cracking’ sounds in the occipital area. I practice yoga on a regular basis, & am 60 yrs. old. I am considering going to a chiropractor (I live in US). A friend of mine is a cranial sacral therapist. Not sure what would be best. My concerns are about blood supply to the brain etc. Any recommendation would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Susan

Thought the crackling sounds in the scalp were signs of lice or other parasites. What about little bumps all over scalp?
